Conveyor belt calibration & measurement

Check the distance a conveyor belt actually travels and the speed it actually runs. Caliveyor Essential and PRO bring those readings to a wireless remote, helping maintenance teams compare belt movement with machine settings during commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting. PRO also measures full belt length for repeated maintenance records.

Caliveyor® PRO

How can I check conveyor movement against the machine settings?

Compare the measured travel distance with the distance the machine is set to move, or compare measured belt speed with the intended speed. The wireless remote brings the reading to the controls, reducing trips between the conveyor and HMI/control cabinet.

These measurements help a technician verify the movement involved in a calibration or troubleshooting task. Machine adjustments still follow the equipment manufacturer's procedure.

What is the difference between travel distance and full belt length?

Travel distance is all detected belt movement during a specific run. Full belt length is the length of the complete belt loop. Both Caliveyor models measure travel distance and speed; PRO adds full-belt length measurement capability.

How does PRO measure the complete conveyor belt?

PRO uses a reflectivity sensor to detect reflective tape placed on the belt. The first detection starts the measurement, and the next stops it after one complete loop, measuring the belt’s full length. Reflective tape is included with PRO.

Before using the tool for the first time, review the product instructions for proper setup and use.

How can repeated belt-length measurements help monitor stretch?

Repeated belt-length measurements help reveal whether the belt is getting longer over time, which may indicate stretch. Comparing readings with a baseline helps your team track how much the length has changed and assess that change against the belt and machine manufacturers’ recommendations.

For meaningful comparisons, your team should keep a record of the readings and take measurements under consistent conditions.

What measurement resolution, speed range, and wireless range are available?

PRO provides 0.25 mm measurement resolution; Essential provides 1 mm resolution. Both models measure belt speeds up to 2500 mm/sec and have a 100 meter wireless range.

Choose PRO when the task also requires full belt length. Resolution describes the increments in the measurement display.

What kind of conveyor belt can this tool work on?

Typically a reasonably flat surface that lets the measuring wheels roll steadily without slipping or bouncing is a key requirement. No cleats or gaps bigger than 1/4in are ideal.

Flat PVC belts, polyurethane belts, rubber belts, Flat-top modular plastic belts, Flush-grid modular plastic belts, Flat-top plastic or stainless-steel chain/slat conveyors all typically work very well with our tools. Textured belts also typically work fine as well.

Available space for the tool to sit and make full contact with the belt is also important, a minimum belt width of 5 inches is currently required. The tool is typically deployed where two conveyor belts meet, we do offer a clamping accessory that can allow use in other situations.

If you still have questions in regard to your conveyor belt compatibility, share the belt type, and photos of the intended measurement location when requesting a compatibility check or contacting us. We will be glad to help!

How do the warranty, purchase guarantee, and trial differ?

Caliveyor Essential and PRO include a 3-year warranty and a 60-day money-back guarantee for purchased products. A 30-day trial-unit request is a separate way to evaluate the tool before purchase to ensure it meets your needs.
